With respect, we engaged but not enough, perhaps. Min of Info, Parliament, MoF briefs to finxial press. I recall 2 or 3 occasions, we even hosted Joint Morning Show segments from MOF confab room. To all, my social media is definitely elevated ... got used to troll too, ha ha.

Mr. President, I don’t think building a national cathedral was a smart move. Every time it rains the country sinks. No amount of prayers and worship will solve it. We need proper structures. Ghanaians urge you to make better decisions. After all, they put you in power!

E-Levy has been about 30 days now. Given that Government gets around a million cedis a day, as earlier reports suggested, we have used the first one month proceeds of E-Levy to pay for part of the National Cathedral. GHS25 million.

I have said it often: any indirect tax that is not levied efficiently, such as blocking VAT refunds or credit-offsets, increases costs (to businesses) and prices (to consumers).

E)Note that businesses that noe charge the 3% will.continue to pay the Input VAT at 17.5% but cannot do any offset (compared to when they charged 17.5%). All is not gold that glitters.

Thanks. Note that by removing the VAT on the fees in 2017 (with fanfare), the financial institutions continue to pay the VAT on their VATable purchases (inputs) without any offsets. E-Levy will add to this non-deductible input VAT.
