This is no isolated incident: In Cambodia, workers at Trax Apparel which produced football shirts for the World Cup for @adidas, were laid off after forming a union, in a blatant disregard of workers' right to organise. #PayYourWorkers #RespectLabourRights

Today, again several adidas sponsored football teams take the field in Qatar, including the team from adidas' home country: Germany. But whether Germany wins, or Spain, #adidas will walk away with the profits as it sponsors both teams. And in the meantime, workers pay the price.

A month ago, 100s of workers at the Pou Chen factory in Myanmar, which made @adidas shoes for the World Cup, went on day strike. They demanded a wage increase to $3.78 per day & an end to union intimidation. Instead of listening, the management fired 26 workers, mainly unionists.

To prevent this kind of repression in the future & ensure swift remedy if workers do face abuse, we call upon @adidas & all brands to sign the #PayYourWorkers agreement - to ensure workers are paid what they're owed, also if they're laid off, & that they can freely organise.

Take this other brand from Germany for example: OLYMP pulled orders from a factory it had been sourcing from for 50 YEARS & then left workers with nothing. 1.5 years later the women are still fighting for what they are owed.
