The message from yields relative to their neutral levels matches well with the message from fed funds rate expectations: The market anticipates 2+ rate cuts in late 2023/early 2024, i.e., a sign of increasing recession risk around that time. 2/2

Our version of the Zweig Thrust Indicator (common stocks only) fired on Friday. Crazy in the context of Fed, Omicron ba.2, Ukraine, commodities, etc. but breadth thrusts have been among the most consistent indicators since the financial crisis. 2/2
