"Log Everything" is: a) logically impossible b) a bottomless money pit c) mostly junk (boring things being infinitely more common than interesting things) d) ends up with a heavy bias towards errors, and e) causes good people to lurch desperately towards bad ideas (like "AI")

For the next week or two, let’s do an experiment. Whenever someone says “story point” or “velocity,” quietly in your own head translate it to “made up numbers.” “I’ve noticed your made up numbers have dipped.” “We need to raise our made up numbers.” Mmmmhmmm.

Unless you follow up your “it depends” or “it’s all about trade-offs” with an actual disposition of WHAT it depends on or HOW to weigh those trade-offs, you’re saying less than nothing. It’s an intellectual pause button.
