@LBC @NickFerrariLBC 1. PAs are not a profession, which by definition has a unique body of knowledge; there is nothing PAs can do that another HCP cannot. 2. What PAs practise is certainly not medicine. To do that, you need a medical degree. 3. The only practise of this caller is charlatanism.
@LBC @NickFerrariLBC I’m a consultant anaesthetist. I wouldn’t have an anaesthetic given by an AA, and nor would my family. If it’s not good enough for us, it’s not good enough for any other patient.
Nursing/physiotherapy/biomedical sciences/radiography/audiology/podiatry/zoology… A few have done an unrelated subject like law or English. The SHARED KNOWLEDGE of students at the start of their PA training will be tiny, possibly negligible. 3/

@drmattuk @UMAPsUK @pa_StephenNash Worth noting that regardless of one's feelings on the role at all, the qualifications bit is wrong. I won't say misleading as that implies intent - but the 4 year UG programme exists. Can no longer state that healthcare degrees are required, so that reassurement is gone.

1. The @gmcuk championing & regulating non doctors has nothing to do with standards or safety but everything to do with money 2. I hope the @DHSCgovuk have their cheque book ready because those numbers aren’t increasing as more and more Dr’s refuse to risk working with MAP’s
