Do students need to take lots of tests to prepare for tests?
No.
Students need a deep understanding of the curriculum that they can transfer to any setting.
Practicing "stress" will not make up for a lack of understanding.
It took some of these kids 8, 10, 12, 17 years to become the way they are. We don’t change that overnight. Give yourself a break & just keep showing up.

If truly interested in defusing upset kids, try my “5 W’s of Defusing.”
1. “Whoa!” Say it loudly to get student’s attention.
2.What. Tell student what is about to happen, “You and I are about to argue right now.” Then explain why the argument is happening.
