The middle window is the weekly HUI/Gold ratio and above that is the RSI for this ratio. At least short term highs (if not longer) occurred when the weekly RSI for this ratio reached +70. Current RSI is at 58 which as room to run before reaching +70. $GLD $XAU $GDX

18 day averages of the up down volume and advance/decline indicators above -10 define an uptrend in $gdx. Today both indicators traded at new short term highs suggesting GDX is getting stronger and that uptrend should continue.

$GDX may be forming "Right Shoulder" low at the support area near 29.00. A "Shakeout" was performed by not holding below the previous lows of 29.00. This potential "Head and Shoulders Bottom" has a measured target to 42.00 range which is near the previous highs.

Both indicators reached -40 eight times since 2009 and 6 of those times where intermediate term lows (75% success rate). $GDX is back at the support line near 29.00 when both indicators are as oversold they have gotten in the past. This is where the next rally should start.

Blue #'s are Trin close then Tick close. TRIN >1.20 show panic and Tick <-200 show panic and panic forms near lows in market. The "Bullish Engulfing" suggests rally may be starting. $SPX $SPY $NDX
