@APApsychiatric All SSRIs can cause Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction, which is essentially chemical castration. It can be permanent in some cases. I have had it for 6 years since coming off Citalopram (an SSRI.) Nothing that can do this can be accurately labelled āsafe.ā
If I won the lottery tomorrow Iād pour all of it into PFS/PSSD research. People donāt realize how serious these conditions are. Iām so desperate to be healthy again in a way most cannot comprehend.

@SosjorgeC But empathy, which was HUGE for me always, is definitely disabled now to a large degree. My bf cut his finger cooking, and I jumped up to give him a bandaid and the "Oh no, hunny!" hug... But I felt NOTHING...It felt like a Psychopath pretending to care to mask...So crazy...
@DrMcFillin Those drugs are death for creative people. As an artist who was on them for 15 years it was the biggest mistake of my life. They are insidious and so dulling you don't even realize what is happening. I'm off for 8 years now and my brain is still not right.

@DanielCohrsMD I'm 14 years off of citalopram after only taking it for 4 months. I still live with many lasting symptoms. My GP was very dismissive of the side-effects I reported to him. I wish I had been given therapy instead. I spoke about it in this video: youtu.be/0pQp-1UZAJE?t=ā¦

I wish I could cry. My life was stolen from me.
In December 2024, I took Luvox for two weeks and stopped at 50 mg. Three months later, in March 2025, I tried Luvox for four days at 50 mg, but stopped due to an adverse reaction. My symptoms worsened, with sexual, emotional, and cognitive problems. #PSSD
