A talent for any runner, but especially a higher volume HS runner and almost every serious college runner: Durability It took me much too long to appreciate that this allows someone to do big volumes of training and reap the benefits. Be grateful if you’re durable.

XC is the foundation for a great track season. You can skip XC, your choice, but you’ll never make up the gains you left on the table when you skip the XC season. Is it really your stance to be ‘half’ as good in track? Don’t sit the bench for 1/2 the year. Run XC!

One of the biggest mistakes people make is taking work home with them. They don't have a boundary and can't detach. According to research, if you can psychologically detachment from work, you'll see improvement in mood, lower fatigue, and better next day performance.
