Over the past four decades, we've consistently highlighted the most significant issue within the SEND system: widespread non-compliance with the law. This must be addressed. Children and young people with SEND are legally entitled to an education that meets their needs.

Can social workers please STOP blaming parents in social care assessments, to cover up their own Local Authority failures to fulfil their education and social care duties to young people. Don't families of young people with SEND/complex mental health go through enough?

We need to remove this view that parents with financial means get what they want in SEND Tribunals. Criticising parents who use what means they have, to fight unlawful decision making, simply to secure provision their child needs is not acceptable - nor is it correct. #SenLawConf
We know 90% of SEND Tribunals are found in favour of parents, are we saying all those parents have financial means? That isn’t correct. Parents succeed at the Tribunal (whether represented, unrepresented, irrespective of finances) because the Tribunal apply the law. #SenLawConf
@AEPsychologists We also need EP’s working in LA’s to specify and quantify their reports. The damage you are causing is immense
You know when some SEND professions begin to turn from their employers to the side of families??? When they are approaching retirement.
@sharon_l_smith Just warn them you will use judicial review, if that doesn't work get a formal pre-action letter sent. That will normally bring the messing around to an end quickly.
