Yesterday I found both Gray and Hammond’s flycatchers in the same area of the Carrizo Plain. Look at perch pose, head shape, primary projections, and bill length/coloration for differentiating these species. Maybe add cuteness factor if you dare. Good morny.

Brilliant birding day Kananaskis @Albertaparks today. The snows this week concentrated songbirds on the limited bare patches - thankfully midges were emerging from wetlands for feed.
Robins have the best faces. I'm so glad they're back in significant numbers (and not too bothered by the snow)

@ThebirderBob Don’t tell Ithaca but the birding is better in S Ontario! That said, the Lab of O is well worth a visit, and it’s beautiful here for hiking. The Lab VC is closed for renos tho, so you may want to defer until the reopening! Get in touch any time :)
@ThebirderBob Lots out here in Ithaca today too! I’ve been hearing 1 male on my study site for about a week, but today there were at least 4, and I also saw at least one chasing a female. Migration is heeeere!!!
