I used to think solar was the best way to make electricity, but I was wrong. 🧵
Solar is like sugar. Both are OK—in small doses. Too much sugar makes you fat & puts your health at risk. Too much solar causes bloated energy costs & puts the power grid at risk.
Extremist groups like @JustStop_Oil are anti-human. Modern agriculture enabled a global food system capable of feeding 8+ billion people. Oil & gas fuel modern agricultural practices, from machinery to fertilizers.

Investing in wind & solar energy is like feeding money into a shredder. The S&P Global Clean Energy Index fell more than 50% from its peak in early 2021, even as the S&P 500 ascended to record highs.

Uranium Fever Is Spreading The price of uranium is up 233% as the world embraces nuclear power. Today, there are 61 nuclear reactors under construction globally. Another ~90 in the planning stage and more than 300 have been proposed.
Oil demand is projected to reach 116 million barrels per day by 2045. Currently, daily demand stands at ~103 million barrels. No matter the exact future number, it is clear that the world will consume more fossil fuels in 2050 compared to today.

Politicians said solar & wind power are so cheap that they'd pay for themselves. That was a lie. The world would need to spend $9 TRILLION per year by 2030 to hit climate goals using these expensive energy technologies.
