With update criteria as it stands, this subjective approach is enough to render WoW’s website untrustworthy. Google updates assess content through a lens that cannot factor in the nuances required to yield these specialised services. (8/10)

Women on Web has been operating for 15 years, employs a staff of 30 including doctors, medical practitioners, and experienced non-profit workers. Their services have been sought out and relied upon by 1000s of women. Expertise and authoritativeness shouldn’t be an issue.(6/10)

What constitutes expert content? Criteria include: Was the website written by an expert or an enthusiast? Is their evidence of the expertise? Do you feel comfortable with this content? Supposedly neutral assessments hinge significantly on subjectivity.(5/10)

Questions arise about the methods used to assess content and bias woven into updates. Broadly, update amendments are based on ‘expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness’. Sounds reasonable, right? But if we scratch the surface, we see how nebulous these criteria are.(4/10)
