If sins had a smell, nobody would sit with me. So if you see people admiring you, then know that they're admiring you only because Allah has displayed your good side to them and covered your bad side or sins. Be thankful to Allah and always ask for forgiveness.

As much as we all hate poverty, billions of people will be born, & die poor. Poverty is not a choice & no one chooses to be poor, sometimes people just accept their situation so they can be at peace with themselves. This acceptance may be misinterpreted to be love for poverty.

I think you went deeper than usual in the literal meaning, forgetting the contextual meaning.. Think of these things critically: 1. If I say to you after you help me in arabic: "أنا أشكر لك لأنني وجدتك عونا" Does it mean that I no longer understand that my Lord is most helpful
