strong agree here 🙌 there's one tiny thing: you usually don't want to separate queryKey from queryFn. I know I've spread this pattern myself, and I'll write about why and how we've solved this in v5 soon.

@housecor My favorite use of JS Doc is to not use it for types at all, but everything else. Put the "doc" in JS Doc. Helpful descriptions, links, and examples can go a long way, especially for NPM libraries.

When I’m stuck on a hard programming problem the most ineffective thing I can do is sit at the keyboard and hope a good idea arrives. So instead, I leave my desk and focus on something else. The context switch stirs creativity and lets my subconscious chew on the problem.

Problem: In React Query, a mutation often needs access to the query's key so it can clear cache. Solution: Put associated queries and mutations in the same custom hook. This colocates related code, and makes sharing query keys easy.

2. Insufficient configurability. Examples: A Button that accepts a string means no one can put an icon in the button. A Heading that accepts a string means no one can use markup like em/i/strong. Solution: Accept any markup as children (aka “Slot” pattern)
