1. That the cases relied on do not apply at all; 2. That they were cited out of context; 3. That there is a more recent decision that supports your position. These are what a reply on point of law should do. Not a rehash of your earlier argument or introduction of new points.

When you read law reports to a point, you can prepare briefs on broad subjects & argue principles of law, even without access to case laws. You just make a submission, leave a space for the authorities & insert them later. Reading a case law daily means over 300 in a year.

So children born out of wedlock are not from God? Sometimes the framing of your words matter. You can argue that God doesn’t approve of the means through which the pregnancy came. But saying God cannot give you a child without a husband is very funny.
