I have read the comments from students at @SUUtbirds ATTACKING the LGBTQ community in defense of Holland speaking at commencement. SUU’s choice of a harmful speaker created an unsafe and divisive environment for students on campus. YOU DID THIS! #SUUComencmentProtest

@SUUtbirds Holland is entirely irrelevant outside of a religious context. 20% of SUU's students are not mormon, they are being alienated. Then add in the hateful and insensitive rhetoric this man has been responsible for, and there is no way he should be speaking. Keep church in church.

Let's be honest. We knew they would not listen to us. SUU has shown us what it is. An institution that believes homophobia is a "difference of opinion." So, in the future, let's treat it as the institution it is. Keep speaking up.

She was used for everything. Used to promote everything. Used to make people look good and socially conscious. Used to promote parties. Used for memes. Used as an example. Used and used and used. And even with all of this, she didn’t get the one thing she needed. Justice.
