From responses to my doubts it is odd how those who are so concerned about patient safety when it suits (eg PAs) don’t mention safety at all when defending claims that F1 doctors are independently making life and death medical decisions at all hours of day and night.

I have genuine concerns about professionals taking photos of colleagues names, and sharing them around social media so people can slag them off. At some point the photo is un redacted, a persons name and workplace isn’t public information. This is wrong.

People may wonder why I take interest in the PA debate. To me, it is like Covid and vaccines - it is a constant stream of misinformation, misrepresentation. It is memes in place of evidence, opinions in place of facts, it is insulting people instead of debating. It is not good.

Let’s assume the PA review will show safety of PAs as a profession. The next step would be further expansion of the workforce. Doctors won’t be able to oppose because evidence will be there. Doctors have assumed the review will work in their favour - but it really might not.
