Again, police have not actually been defunded. Any rise in crime is happening despite our ridiculously large police forces, because they don’t keep us safe. We need to go to the root causes instead of trying the same tool again and again just because it’s the only one we know.

It's really strange to see people use more crime as a justification for more police. The US spends more than $100 billion on cops. The US police budget would make it the 3rd largest army on earth. So a rise in crime is evidence that policing does not work. It does not stop crime.
