Always struggled to defend wide spaces. My biggest reason for wanting Branthwaite over de Ligt in the summer. We have just one good wide space CB and he's injured till November.

I'm very surprised that people don't mention his lack of speed much on here. Combined with his aggression, he's very beatable in 1v1s. Not an ideal wide space defender.

Ten Hag is so annoying man. It's not even a case of "can he do it or not?". Rather, it's "will he do it or not?". Just keeps sabotaging himself despite showing that he can indeed coach a top team.

People don’t understand how good our team is. I’m not joking or trying to rub it in on ETH but what they are showing now is not even half their level. It comes out in phases because they find a way to sync at times. Good players usually find a way to do that on their own.

This is where I stand. People doing squad building and net-spend tables on the timeline but I honestly believe it’s structure that’s the main problem. No compactness, no clear path on the ball, transition control is poor, press is better but not great and the progress is small.

I just can't get my head around it. He KNOWS what works and he regularly implements it vs smaller teams with just finishing letting us down. But against big teams, he chooses to ditch it for gung-ho football. It doesn't make any sense

This decision is the biggest indication of his intention in big games. Overly direct football. Coupled with the poor pressing structure that's only used in these games, performances end up being horrible. Great setup & tactics vs smaller teams, throw it away vs big teams. Silly.
