I brought 1200 bracelets to defcon. Came home with 40. If there were 30,000 attendees this year, this means I had 1 on 1 interactions with 3% of Defcon attendees. Or 1 in every 30 people.

Hot take. If a judge puts a hacker in jail for 20 years, my guess is they want to set an example, send a signal to other hackers as a warning. But for that to be effective the news needs to spread. And so I think those judges should go on speaking tours to make the most impact.
