There's a guy on my street who walks his dog three times a day. Always at the same time, like clockwork. A few days ago he missed the walks, and today he was walking by himself. I went out and asked him if he wanted tea, and he started to sob. The dog passed over the weekend.

They buried the lede on this new study. It's not that exercise beats out SSRIs for depression treatment, but that *just* dancing has the largest effect of *any treatment* for depression. That's kind of beautiful.

Grief is a man in sad pajamas that you keep locked in a room because he's proof you used to love something. Set him free. Let him leave (or stay) if he has to. You have other proof. Setting him free is not a betrayal of your love. Healing: not a betrayal. Don't romanticize it.
