Under the #EnvironmentAct, Local Authorities have the power to set net gain requirements beyond 10%. Just two authorities - @GuildfordBC & @WorthingCouncil - told us that they had already adopted policies that go beyond 10%. Thank you for your ambition for #nature!

@LandEthics Absolutely, but it's a big improvement on Government's original plan to simply count those places en bloc. We're looking forward to the regs linking National Landscape management plans to #EnvironmentAct targets under the #levellingup bill. Defra should bring them forward asap.
