The argument is: We're all meant to sacrifice a bit, so that tariffs can help rebuild American manufacturing. Let's ask American manufacturers whether they're helping.

BOOM. The federal appeals court rules Trump's tariffs illegal, because they are. There's no national emergency, and so the power to tariff a country rests with Congress. Trump admin has lost at every stage of the process, but stay tuned for the Supremes to chime in.
Thanks to tariffs (esp re: Canada), US aluminium prices are now roughly 50% higher than in Europe & Japan, thus putting US manufacturers at a competitive disadvantage. Heckuva industrial strategy.

Interesting findings re who is actually paying for the tariff so far. Only 14% is covered by foreign exporters; but only 22% directly by US consumers so far. Who eats most of it? US companies. Less profits for US companies means fewer jobs & stagnation. And soon, price increases.
