when making plans with an Autistic person please consider the following - asking a few days in advance - being clear about location/event - stating who will be there if not just you - giving a specific time, ‘at 16:30’ VS ‘around 16:00ish’ - not changing location last minute

You can be autistic and: - Be solitary. - Have one best friend. - Have a few functional [friend/acquaintance]ships. - Be on the outskirts of a friend group, trying to fit in yet not feeling part of it. - Be popular, because you naturally endear people or have a vivacious mask.

PSA for autistic people: when people confide in you about a personal matter that’s affecting them, more often than not they just want you to actively listen to them and potentially offer words of comfort or validation and/or a hug - not a solution to their problem.

The ADHD urge to walk up and down every aisle of a store, because you forgot what you went there for and hope that if you systematically look closely at everything, you’ll eventually see what you wanted, it will jog your memory, and then you can buy it and escape.
