In Japan, it is manners to hold a bowl when eating. When drinking soup overseas,it is common to carry the tableware to your mouth with a spoon without moving it from the table,but in Japan,when you drink miso soup, you put your mouth in the bowl. This is a difference in manners.

@Rikarudonogenki Hi! 何人 can be read as なんにん or なにじん. When you read it as なにじん, it means “What nationality,” so the question means, “what nationality is that person?” なんにん means “How many people.”
