I know there’s been talk of this country running out of teachers for years, but I genuinely think that ‘talk’ will soon become a reality. Not a shortage or cutting corners - literally no one to stand in classrooms in front of classes. Wonder what happens then? It’ll be too late.

A few myths to dispel: 1. Teachers are not paid for the holidays. You read that right, teachers are not paid for the holidays. They could be classed as TOIL for the unpaid overtime they routinely do, but actually they are just not paid (despite many working, prepping etc.).

@RishiSunak @educationgovuk You'll need to employ a large number of maths teachers. How are you planning to do that when teacher pay is being eroded, when inadequate funding is leading to redundancies and when workload is increasingly unmanageable? There's a massive teacher exodus that needs addressing.
