A thread on asking questions in math talks.
This week I was at a 60th birthday conference, the first in-person conference I've been to since Covid that's more or less in my field, and I decided to do something radical: I decided to ask questions.

Here's an excellent work by Vijay (@vijay_mocherla), presented at the spectroscopy conference (sites.google.com/view/sdmc2022) last week 😍
We hope to click the yellow button before x-mas and go on a vacation🎄🎄🎄

There's a tweet I keep seeing reposted that claims that academics should disclose our privileges (gender, sexuality, nationality, socioeconomic background, etc) before announcing our accomplishments. I don't often do this, but let's unpack the claim.
