"The first step is agreeing on what we're going to build" Respectfully: nope. This is one of the worst sins I see all over the place. The *first* step is agreeing on what the problem(s) is/are and what we're trying to solve/accomplish. Deciding if that's software is like step 8.

"Software is never 'done'" Yeah, sure. But if you're always looking for better, you'll never find what you're looking for. Gotta stop somewhere. Think of it as a pause instead. "Good enough for now" is something that takes a very long time to learn. And it'll never be perfect.

I really want everyone in tech to realize this. Sure you can take a paycheck and write code until you die. Or, you can strive to do what engineering is all about: solving problems. Solving problems is not a one-way street with no input from people on the ground.

Whenever someone tells me we should use containers for everything, my reaction is: "meh" For some things they are great. For some things they are not. If it helps your use case: great! If not: don't be trendy to be trendy. Do what makes sense. Don't blindly follow any crowd.

And also: You can also do everything in your power to succeed, perform every task perfectly...and still fail. That's on life, not you. Sites will crash, servers will eat it, code will do things 20 people reviewing it never thought of. It's all okay. You'll have a story tomorrow.

I think all new devs should be told: You will make changes. Sometimes they'll be good. Sometimes they won't. It's okay to make mistakes. Aim for better, not perfect. If you take the lessons with you, you're doing great. Taking fails hard means you care, but then brush them off.
