Success in RE private equity requires three broad skills: 1. Identifying & acquiring good deals 2. Raising capital 3. Executing the biz plan post-acquisition (design, construction, leasing, etc.) To build a career in this business, start by getting great at one of the above.

Most brokers tell you representing buyers is a disaster, bc only the seller's broker is sure to get paid. However, in a 0% rate environment, there is tons of interest in owning 2-4 unit buildings for yield. You can build a great biz repping buyers of these. (We did, 2012-16.)
