This implies that if work associated with them is sub-par (e.g., poorly performing code), your 1st thought is “what systemic problems are holding them back?” and then you proactively and carefully seek to find and fix these problems, seeking feedback all the while. (3/22)

All too typical story: 1. Hire for a very senior eng role for ~6 months. 2. Assume this person can solve all the team's problems, and load it on them. Do no real onboarding. 3. In 6 months, this person leaves or gets fired. 4. Go to step 1. 5. "It's hard to scale the team."

Disagree. PRs are useful async collaboration tools, good for encapsulating a feature into a single referenceable point, and provides context for people outside the individual writing the code. In short, it helps your org scale. This sync “trust” model only works for small teams
