GTA 6 has been delayed and is officially releasing on May 26, 2026, per Rockstar Games.

The Liberty City mod takedown was apparently a friendly and mutually agreed upon decision by both Rockstar and the project’s devs. Not sure what this means exactly, but it does indicate that there was no malicious DMCA strike by Rockstar or Take-Two. Very odd turn of events.

Rockstar’s Instagram has also been very inactive recently with no current GTA Online weekly event post or an RDO event reminder. As many community members have said, this is probably due to the LA fires and not some imminent announcement, but we’ll see how it plays out.

All Rockstar had to do from day one was to release the GTA Trilogy remasters with their original atmosphere and color palette and they would’ve been received well. Yesterday’s patch proves that. Instead we got soulless Unreal Engine 4 cartoony “realism.” What a shame.

Ludendorff, North Yankton from the GTA 5 prologue has now been added to GTA Online as part of the Halloween event. I really wish Rockstar would’ve fully finished designing this town and added it to the game as a map expansion instead. Missed opportunity, would’ve been cool.

Bully was recently rated in Taiwan for PS5, XSX|S, PC, and old gen consoles. We don’t know what it’s for, but the last time a Rockstar project was leaked through a rating board was when the RDR1 port and the GTA Trilogy remasters were close to releasing.

GTA 5 has now sold over 200 million units while the GTA series has sold more than 430 million copies. GTA 5 sales seem to have slowed down drastically while the series as a whole has sold more than 5 million units in the last 3 months. GTA 5 might finally be winding down 😭

A reminder that Rockstar actually made a lot of progress on Bully 2 before it was shelved, and we even have tons of concept art for the game. Given that Bully is smaller than GTA & RDR, if Rockstar were to develop it again it’d be their most immersive title ever. Hope it happens

This is just an ex-Rockstar dev giving his opinion on GTA 6. Vermeij left the studio in 2009 and doesn’t have any insider information, as he himself stated in the interview. He’s speculating like we all do. I don’t know why it’s being made out to sound like groundbreaking news.

Although Take-Two announced a Fall 2025 release for GTA 6 at their last earnings call, it’s best not to expect anything special during the next one. They typically only talk sales figures and don’t announce anything new during the calls. If news is coming, it’ll be right before.
