Someone pieced these two news reports together. A farmers gets 2 yr jail term+penalty for inability to pay back an outstanding loan of Rs 6 lakh. Another report says Rs 68,000 cr bad loans of 50 wilful defaulters written off by banks. Why different strokes for different people?

The @RBI needs new blood. Replace everyone. Hire people from banks- experience in operations. Have concurrent audits in banks. RBI has failed as a bank regulator. Simply issuing circulars and tinkering with interest rates does not need a separate institution. @nsitharaman

IMHO. Until judiciary remains slow, expensive and easily gamed by the rich any mega bailout only helps the mega rich corner more public finds without accountability!
