I reimagined my living room with World Labs. Gemini helped design it, World Labs generated the 3D environment, and VPS localized it to my space 1:1 scale. I can now step into a persistent redesign in mixed reality and explore it as though it exists physically. How it was built:
First, I took a photo of my living room and used Gemini to re-imagine it in a Scandinavian interior design, along with industrial style and modern contemporary.
Then I took these images and used @theworldlabs to generate persistent 3D environments from these photos.
Then, I captured my living room with Scaniverse, aligned it with the .spz Gaussian splat from World Labs, and used VPS to lock everything in place for real time mixed reality.
I tried different styles for my room and viewed them in mixed reality. The design use cases are clear. Back when I worked as an architect, modeling something like this for a quick client presentation would have been unrealistic. With the speed of these tools, it feels viable.
