This is the number of black hole mergers (BH-BH) expected to be observed in the coming years. We're at ~100 now. It will be *millions* by 2040 ! Einstein thought we'd never detect a single gravitational wave. These are truly incredible times

The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound. Here it's amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!

Have you ever had a good day that was productive, edifying, blessed, and chill, and went to bed at a reasonable 10pm... then wake up groggy at 1:00 in the afternoon the next day wondering "what the heck happened" !?
