I’m delighted to see CTs economy growing, but let’s not kid ourselves. It’s not some miraculous growth. Just like before the pandemic, we’re trailing our neighbors. We shouldn’t settle for mediocrity as the current Democratic administration is. We need to try something new.

Fiscal irresponsibility like this not only means we’re highly in debt and will have to pay this off somehow. But will also mean that money that needs to go to other projects and services will be held up paying off existing debts. We need to new leadership in Hartford.

Like many things, government works best in a balance. Sending Republicans to Hartford to work with Democrats will make our state more affordable while also keeping Connecticut as open and welcoming as it is now. Don’t let anyone else tell you it’s one or the other!

Schools in Connecticut work best when involved parents meet with engaged teachers and work together. Parental voices in schools are important. It isn’t always easy to cooperate but it’s worth it to create the best schools. And when our schools work at their best, our kids win.

In Connecticut, our budget can be both progressive and solvent. Fiscal responsibility and programs to help those who have fallen on hard times are not mutual exclusives. We can do both. When I get to Hartford, I will advocate for policies that can make this idea a reality.
