MOVE OVER. SLOW DOWN. IT’S THE LAW.
Flashing lights ahead? Whether it’s police, fire, EMS, tow, construction, or even a broken-down vehicle, Scott’s Law requires you to:
➡️ Change lanes if it’s safe
➡️ Slow down if you can’t
Don’t risk a ticket...or a life.
Bike Safety Reminder
If you’re out riding, whether it’s to work, school, or just for fun, make sure drivers can see you. Staying visible is one of the best ways to stay safe. The more visible you are, the more time drivers have to react. Let’s keep everyone safe on the road!
Happy Labor Day from all of us at ACDC! 🇺🇸
Today we honor the hard work and dedication of workers everywhere, including our own dispatchers who are here 24/7, even on holidays, to answer your calls for help.
We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing day!
Congratulations to Director Marilu & Deputy Director Eric for successfully completing the NENA Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) this past week. With the conclusion of yesterday's class, ACDC's entire management team is now CMCP certified! #ACDCpride
🐾🌍 Happy International Dog Day! 🌍🐾
We’re celebrating today by showing off some of the four-legged friends who keep our very own telecommunicators smiling at home. Meet a few of the pups that brighten our days outside the center! 🐶💙
Now we want to see yours!
Nothing is more important than keeping kids safe.
When a school bus stops and the red lights are flashing, you must stop, no matter which direction you’re coming from.
It’s not just the law, it’s a child’s life. 🚸🛑

We thoroughly enjoyed participating in this year’s National Night Out. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with the community and educate children about the importance of 911. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening a success!
When you call 9-1-1, our telecommunicators use a system called RapidSOS to help get a more accurate location
Apps, like Lyft and Uber, use it too. If you hit the emergency button in one of those apps, your trip details and location can be sent straight to the dispatch center.
National Night Out is tomorrow, August 5th!
Stop by and say hi to your dispatchers, we’ll be out at these National Night Out events:
-Addison - 5p-9p
-Bloomingdale - 530p-7p
-Itasca - 5p-8p
-Wood Dale - 5p-9p
We’d love to see you there!
After 6 years, Jim is hanging up his headset for good as he wraps up his last shift as our Alarm Board Operator.
Enjoy a well-earned retirement filled with good coffee, quiet mornings, and time for whatever you’ve put off for far too long.
Congratulations and best wishes, Jim!
🚗July is Vehicle Theft Prevention Month🚙
-In 2024, there were over 850,700 vehicle thefts reported in the country.
-Estimates show that approximately one vehicle is stolen every 37 seconds.
-Illinois was #4 in the country for vehicle thefts in 2024.
Those red and blue lights aren't a prize for winning the race.
The faster you go, the brighter they glow.
Take it as a reminder: speeding puts lives at risk, and it can cost you more than just a ticket.
In 2024, 39 children died of heat stroke in vehicles. Prevent child hot car deaths…never leave a child unattended for any length of time. Make it a habit to check your vehicle before locking the doors and walking away. Store car keys and fobs out of a child’s reach.

Congratulations to TC Alex for successfully completing his fire dispatch cross-training! He’s now officially trained to handle both police and fire radio channels. This accomplishment takes focus, dedication, and a whole lot of multitasking skills.
We’re proud to have you, Alex!
🚨 Tornado Siren Test Reminder 🚨
This is a heads-up that we’ll be conducting our monthly tornado siren test at 10:00 AM today.
There’s no emergency; this test is conducted on the first Tuesday of every month to ensure the sirens are functioning correctly.
🚗Quick Reminder for Drivers!🚗
If your windshield wipers are on, your headlights should be on too.
It’s not just a good habit, it’s the law! Headlights help other drivers see you in rain, snow, or fog, even during the day.
Stay safe and visible out there!💡🌧️
