Scrambling through your voter's guide before Tuesday's election? Google's NotebookLM has been a super helpful tool for me. Upload documents and get summaries, ask questions, generate customized podcasts, add notes... all rooted in the docs w/ citations. Nifty little workspace.

This is a perfectly fine approach, but shouldn’t be the only approach students are exposed to. Writing w/o using AI is a skill. Using available tools (like AI) to enhance your writing/efficiency/productivity is a skill. Both have their value, and each can aid the other.

With the rate of development of these AI models, now is a good time to revisit that prompt you tried last year. If you want to try out different models side-by-side to see which one works best for your needs, the @lmsysorg chatbot arena (lmarena . ai) is a great place to do it!

Remember, there are multiple levels to AI use as a teacher. For example: You may not feel comfortable using AI to grade writing, but you might find value in being able to instantly generate questions for students that challenge them to think critically about their submission.

AI Literacy 101: The first response pulled from pre-loaded training data (and told you as much). The second one searched the web for info (indicated by the text, “Searched 3 sites”). It’s not a conspiracy theory, just edit your prompt to clarify your request. I had no issues:
