The Embassy of Afghanistan in Canberra is pleased to have joined @MonashUni @UNSW @UniMelb @ANUmedia @Deakin on Friday 15 August for the Afghanistan Conference 2025. The one-day conference gathered academics, civil society and the Afghan community across Australia to reflect on four years of Taliban rule. Key speakers underlined the urgent need to confront #GenderApartheid and restore basic rights.

Ambassador Waissi stressed that Taliban governance is not cultural but a deliberate political design to exclude and suppress. “Sole rule by decree cannot be considered legitimate under international norms.”
