@Alexander_Lees Been doing our annual January bird survey for the local bird club. Your message about not feeding birds has certainly got through to a lot of people in north Lancs. Lots of villages much quieter as House Sparrows, finches and tits have deserted them.
@HeyshamObs I doubt that there has been a significant enough cessation of feeding to have a difference yet, it would take serious coms from eNGOs to do that. House Sparrows are a potential major beneficiary but long-term context is important.
@Alexander_Lees I agree. It would be interesting to know if bird food companies are noticing any downturn. Cost of living a factor but not in the Lune valley villages. No doubt lots of feeders going up for the Big Garden Birdwatch!
