We're in the midst of the monsoon at the moment, a windy, chilly and rainy season that tends to last till February-ish. Ferry suspensions and cancellations are possible, due to higher than usual seas. Something to keep in mind. All that being said, Happy Holidays all the same :)

Indonesia has lifted all Covid measures for travelers who've undergone the full vaccination regime. Once you comply, you're permitted to enter the country without having to show a test result or undergoing quarantine. All standard immigration requirements still apply of course.

Indonesia has just done away with mandatory quarantine for travelers from abroad. You still require a negative test result, though, as well as be fully vaccinated. That being said, clearly, things are looking up!

As we're leaving November and entering December, please note that the NE monsoon is gaining a foothold with each passing day. Winds and seas may be up in the days to come, possible resulting in ferry service interruptions. Thinking of going to Anambas? Best wait till Feb/March.

Since it's Ramadan, please note that the ferry schedule may at times need to be amended. Also, if you're thinking of booking the ferry for a leisure trip the next month or so, it's good to note that the ferry is pretty much fully booked till after Hari Raya.

The monsoon is now as good as here; we're seeing more rainy spells and they're getting longer too. Pretty soon, it'll rain for a week non-stop, with nary a sun in sight. After that, we can look forward to blue sunny skies and lovely temperatures, albeit breezy till February end.

Note: The monsoon is now making its presence felt more and more. In the next couple of weeks, we're likely to see more rain, more stormy weather and, yes, higher seas. Something to keep in mind. Better yet, perhaps even tide over your Anambas trip till February/March 2019 :-)

Somewhat unsettled weather has moved into our region. It's the time of the year for the SE and SW breezes to push in more consistently. However, the atmosphere typically stabilizes, after which we'll see mostly sunny days with an occasional late afternoon shower at most.

The Batam - Anambas Ferry has been running for a while now. No major issues reported. Better still, the northeast wind has eased and the sea is calm. Smooth sailing on all counts.
