@AndroidDev Play Integrity API does not protect users. It exists to defend Google's business interests through illegally cracking down on competition. It permits a device with no security updates for 8 years but not a much more secure device than anything Google certifies.

@AndroidDev A fully updated device without Play Integrity is more secure than an outdated device with Play Integrity. This isn't about protecting users but about maintaining a monopoly, which is illegal under EU law at least.
@AndroidDev If it really is for the purpose stated then implement hardware attestation to allow non Google certified/GMS licensees that provide equal to or better than standard security models to pass it. Not doing demonstrates it as a walled garden business tool not a technical function.
