Arrived safe and sound in Perth after a 16.5 hours flight from Heathrow. Very little sleep on flight . In bed at 8.30pm local, 1.30pm UK, hoping the jet lag will be kind.

A really tough day ensues today as we say farewell to my dear Mum. I'm already struggling and the ceremony doesn't start until 12.30pm. As Mum liked Brighton & Hove Albion, I've dug out a non football blue & white striped shirt for the day. It's a fine day in Sussex thankfully.

Sleep well Mum. Now reunited with Dad after only 378 days apart. You had so many challenges health wise all your life but you always remained cheerful. Hopefully you knew Nikki and me were with you until very near the end but we respect that you wanted to be on your own. 💔💔💔
