LFG events reveal that it's only really white men who have a 'justice based ethics'. A political campaign that's just neutrally interested in 'growth' - which will benefit everyone, but not benefit anyone in particular - has produced an audience which looks like a klan meeting.

Young, educated people vote left because young, educated people are left-wing on social issues. Brexit has turned them off the Tories/Reform for emotional and cultural reasons, not because it has lowered real wages by 1-2%.

I think the commentary on whether Nick is suffering from 'false consciousness' misses the fact that people mostly choose who to vote for based on their social values, not their economic policy preferences.

It would be interesting to see the results if you correctly identified Nick by restricting the sample to (i) White Brits (ii) net taxpayers My guess is (i) would increase the Reform vote but (ii) would have no effect because voting patterns are no longer correlated with income

A suspicion of intangible products and a desire for more masculine work also motivate support for the tariff regime. This position assumes that tariffs will restore jobs in manufacturing and industry, which of course may prove incorrect.

Over the past decade many people on the right have taken anti-intellectual positions on (i) atheism (ii) free trade, because of fear of cringe by osmosis with 'fedora atheists' and 'goofy libertarians'. Congratulations to everyone who passed the filter.
