We do this for the craft-- find an organization that respects the art & work. It's the best thing you can do for yourself.
The number 1 lesson this year is not to take the 1st job offer you get, even if a huge natural disaster wipes out most of your belongings.

Today I worked with a guy who was inspired to work in theatre after seeing a show I ME'd years ago, a thousand miles away. Mind blown.
Spot ops, when I allotted 3 8-hr sessions for you to practice, I will not have patience for major screw ups during a straightforward show.
I understand you started working before I was born. I respect your age. Please respect my 10+ years as a professional in a field new to you.
I know I should be happy to have Thanksgiving off, but I am mostly just confused by the idea of a holiday that isn't also a tech day.
Why are employers so surprised by people actively supporting interdepartmental cooperation? It should the norm!
Most of my hometown is under water & without power. To those complaining about the hype, how about using that energy to help those in need?

I love a well planned hard patch. Nothing makes me happier come troubleshooting time.
I love designers who don't complain about things beyond my control. It makes me feel like they trust me to do the job.
I will never understand the impulse to stop growing, to stop learning. What do you do with yourself at that point? Why is that desirable?
Why don't my interns understand that I do not care how late in the season we are-- each show matters just as much as the last?
