HSE report for 1st quarter 2021 just landed in our inbox. In North Dublin, 6% of assessment reports were completed on time. National average? 14%. That's 14% of our kids having their legal entitlements met. This is state neglect.

HSE 4th Quarter Annual Report 2020, gotten through FOI request. 16,466 children awaiting initial assessment for Speech and Language Therapy. Broken into CHO and age brackets. We are not honourring UN convention on rights of persons with disabilities.

OT data for you this morn, 2 pics, same data. No. of chn waiting 1st time assessment, Dec 2020. Vast majority (about 15,000) waiting > 1 yr for FIRST assessment (see pic 2 for how bad it is). Friendly reminder: today is another day we are in contravention of The Disability Act.

Today's graph shows: total number (vast majority children) awaiting Speech and Language Therapy in Oct 2020. 41,055 children. Read that number again. Then take this in: That number increased by *about* 15% by Dec 2020. AON is the tip of the iceberg. Most pre-date Covid.

Today's data: Speech and Language: No of 0-17 yr olds awaiting initial assessment AND how long they've been waiting for, broken down by CHO. The Disability Act says that AON must be commenced within 3 months and completed within 6. Future tribunals are made of this stuff.

We'll give you charts to keep you in the loop with all things AON. Here's a graph with how many children are waiting for assessment for Occupational Therapy. Majority are waiting more than a year. This contravenes The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
