honestly the only threes pieces of advice i have for trans people are: •read every piece of trans theory, history, and fiction you can get yr hands on •work to reduce and then eliminate yr negative self-talk •improve yr posture everything else, just use yr best judgment

Shine a light on their hostility, demand that they justify it. Don't make excuses for being lesbian, gay, bi or trans, demand people who question it explain why they're shoving their ideology on your life and body.

Anyway. my main point here is that these conversations should be redirected at asking straight cis people why they feel entitled to police other people's sex lives, gender identities and expressions. Because "it's not a choice" is a defensive response to aggression from them.

It takes vast amounts of violence to maintain the appearance of cisgender heterosexual normality. To keep people in those boxes, when many may wish to choose to live outside them and everyone even if they do not want to, ought to have the freedom to do so.

I take this sort of rhetoric a different way. I think it should be fine to be trans and I don't think it matters if that's a choice or not My question is why is it considered justifiable to try to use force, shame or abuse to stop someone transitioning, if that's what they want

“The Terrifier” wow, this sums up my life when I was 21, and I hadn’t even transitioned yet. I did, however, work in a Southern state (NC) with a shitty minimum wage for tipped employees, and few worker protections.
