Another reason for today's rally we are told is due to an imminent truce between Ukraine and Russia. I'm not sure if that's real or fantasy. However, I would note that gold miners made their last peak when the war started back in 2022.

The worst case scenario is not "collapse" or "civil war" or whatever else, it's that the current system just stumbles on forever, gradually getting worse and worse. Even South Africa hasn't truly "collapsed," it just sucks. People tolerate anything if there's no alternative.
