I visited Greece in 2007, chilling outside a house waiting to get picked up. Some people pulled up, had no idea who they were. They started trying to take our bags, loaded it into a truck. I tried telling them to fuck off. When they didn't seem to understand, I realized they were gypsies. "These are our bags," they insisted in broken Greek. Fortunately the rest of our group arrived, and the bastards ran off. I imagine Greece is way worse now.

@GPrime85 Did you see that video of the North Carolina mom in Italy holding a gypsy pickpocket by her hair until police showed up? “I have 8 kids, you’re not getting to me.” 😂
@RebeccaTucker85 @GPrime85 My daughter and her husband are going to Italy in a week and I'm really concerned for their safety. I pray it's safe there.
@marieca56167915 @GPrime85 They should be fine, just make sure they know to keep their bags on their front. Crossbody bags work well for that.
@RebeccaTucker85 @marieca56167915 @GPrime85 Beware of the woman in Venice with the fake baby cradled in the fake wooden arm. Pro tip: wear something like this sling with a couple of dollars in it with the real cash and cards under your clothes. Visit the restroom to get it out right before you buy something.
Do put other things in your decoy bag: a compact hair brush. tissue, lip balm, expired library or AAA cards. Do a little method acting and make it look like you have valuables in it. (Strong grip on the strap.) I traveled to several countries on my own and never got picked. I did try traveling with friends, but they'd leave once they found a cute guy and would be too tired for sightseeing the next day. One "Romed" so hard she completely missed seeing Paris.
