Sometimes… Change is good. No, sometimes change is great. But not tonight, I saw the end of an era for baseball in Oakland. I feel terrible for all of the fans. I know that I would be absolutely heartbroken if my team closed up shop and moved into a different market.

In 2008, Bengie Molina became 1st player in MLB history to homer and not get credit for the run. His shot off the wall was deemed a single. After review, it was ruled a homer; however, Molina was replaced at 1B with pinch runner, Emmanuel Burris, who was credited with the run.

In 1952, a 28-year-old rookie pitcher and future Hall of Famer, Hoyt Wilhelm, hit a homerun in his very first Big League at bat with the National League New York Giants. He would play 21 more years recording 493 plate appearances without another round-tripper and career .088 AVG.

08/04/1911 bottom of 9th, Herman "Germany" Schaefer stole 2B, hoping to draw a throw from the catcher. It didn't work. Schaefer the light-hearted prankster, now on 2B, took his lead toward the 1B side of the bag and promptly stole first on a subsequent pitch.
